Going Green

In Our Continued Efforts To "Go Green"

Going green is no longer a trend. It is everywhere. And it is now. It is our responsibility for healthy business management and for protecting our environment, for conserving natural resources and maintaining healthy workplaces.

PryntComm continues to take advantage of opportunities to lessen our carbon footprint in our world. The recycled paper and recycled content issues of paper can be very confusing but we try to make it easy for our customers to use eco-friendly paper and still deliver the high quality products we are known for. Recycled paper now 'house' stock

Recycled Paper Now Inventoried In Our "House" Stock

PryntComm now carries recycled paper inventory with varying degress of post-consumer waste. Our paper supplies have options for recycled stock and we are happy to investigate any options that our customers are looking for.

In-House Recycling

We continually work to minimize our environmental impact by trying to reduce, re-use and recycle throughout every aspect of our printing operation. This includes reducing the amount of waste created in our printing processes as well as recycling everything we can to get our waste reduced as much as possible.

Computer-To-Plate Technology

Our in-house technology for going directly from computer to plate means that negatives are no longer necessary and therefore eliminates that waste. It also reduces a significant source of toxic emissions with traditional offset presses.

Print-On-Demand Technology

Print-On-Demand (P.O.D.) is a brand new mindset for some customers because they are now able to buy only the print jobs they need. This allows them to keep their print pieces updated and current and eliminates the need to warehouse big inventories of their marketing material. It allows customers to print as needed and eliminate waste by having to discard outdated materials.

Other Environmentally Friendly Things We Do:

  • We offer e-mail proofs which creates fewer paper proofs and reduces shipping, paper and machine time.
  • Recycle paper products to the tune of several thousand pounds a year.
  • Recycle plastic and aluminum materials including plastic wrap, poly wrap, plastic bottles and aluminum cans etc.
  • Recycle aluminum cans as well as printing plates.
  • Recycle office papers and ink cartridges.

Ever Heard Of Greenwashing?

Greenwashing There is a by-product of the green movement that is of concern to both marketers and consumers. Greenwashing, as it is called, is marketing a “green” image without following through on green practices. The green movement is powered by consumers, and numerous watchful advocacy groups that keep a sharp eye on marketers to ensure they’re simply not cashing in on perception without participating in the reality. What this means is that you must be absolutely honest in your representation of eco-friendly practices. It may or may not cost more to produce greener marketing pieces, but the price of misrepresenting your print jobs as green could be exponentially higher.

There are many confusing terms that apply to recycled paper, forests, technology, etc. We will continue our efforts to reduce our impact on the environment and educate our customers as well. Our company will continue to look for opportunities to be “green” and help our environment.
